Lenoir Community College Waller Building Expansion & Auditorium Renovation – Kinston, NC
This multi-use training facility consisted of a new Certified state of the art, 9,400 square foot Culinary Arts Training Facility, a 2-story Science Classroom Building (29,000 sq. ft.) and renovation of a 10,000 square foot auditorium (Theater). The Science Building had both VCT and Epoxy floors. Large gang bathrooms had ceramic tile walls and floors. Furnishing and installation of the Science casework and Fume Hoods were part of this project. The sitework and foundation for this project were complicated by the presence of high water. Much of the area had to be dewatered. A new parking lot and associated lighting was provided. An electronic building management system was installed to control the lighting and HVAC systems. The Culinary Arts Training Facility was a complete kitchen, kitchen equipment casework, and freezer/cooler installation that serves both as a training center and a food preparation/dining area for the Lenoir Community College. The establishment is one of the only four that are certified in the State of North Carolina by the American Culinary Federation. Both buildings were double wyeth masonry. The kitchen flooring was quarry tile and walls were epoxy painted.
